ireland.com - now with blogs
it's been a fairly low key launch but my main employer, the irish times, have introduced blogs to ireland.com. the first two blogs are original indie kid jim carroll's on the record and conor pope's ever popular pricewatch. jim in particular has made a strong start with regular informative posts. expect shane hegarty to be the next irish times journalist to start blogging within the official fold.

thanks JC. nice piece in the paper on the EMI/DRM/Apple thing. I'm sticking with emusic though.

have my emusic sub alright but still use iTunes for the occassional album i can't get on there. would certainly be more keen on it without drm - hopefully the price will come down when more labels come on board.

yes, emusic does have some blanks (especially because of their current row with Vital Distribution) but its just as annoying to see the stuff available thru other iTunes stores which are not in the irish set-up. maybe its time i got a US visa card.....
its interesting too that Jobs has changed his tune (sorry) on the idea of variable pricing.
