boo.com is making a comeback - from ireland

remember boo.com? the high-profile uk-headquartered online retailer that burnt through anywhere between €150-200 million (depending on who you believe) and shut up shop a mere six months after it launched. well now boo is set for a re-launch this summer according to a notice on the site. more interestingly if you do a whois lookup on boo.com the domain is registered to a woman living in the leafy dublin suburb of ranelagh. should be interesting to watch this one - considering half the world seems to be reviving dot com ideas of dubious quality.

I still have a boo.com frisbee that came free with an order of a t-shirt.
I wonder if the new boo.com would like to buy it as some decoration for their (I am assuming) more humble offices! :-)

hang your head in shame mr cubik - one of the few who actually ever placed an order with boo.com! the cost of the frisbee/postage etc was probably more than the profit on the t-shirt. still, you never know - stranger things have been sold for a decent profit on e-bay.

hey col,

i reckon we can out gift ya.
vicki worked with boo in london for a spell. part of a team that went in near the end trying to save the engineering.
she has some great tales of the bubble excess.
offices on carnaby street for programmers (all with PAs) and warehousing !.
